The classic Njáls Saga is set mainly in the Rangárþing region, and the principal saga sites are signposted. The masterpiece of Njáls Saga plays an important part in the Saga Centre exhibition, which invites guests to enter the medieval Icelandic world, to learn about navigation, Viking cosmology, and the storytelling tradition that gave rise to the Sagas of Icelanders. Also in the Centre is a replica of a medieval longhouse, an art gallery, and an exhibition on the history of the cooperative movement in Iceland. Audio guides
